To Catch You Up on November and December...

...Have some pictures!

Hey all!
For my November/December update, I'm just going to show you some pictures of some of the main highlights. Forgive me for not writing much this time--but it's actually for your own good. :) I'm pretty behind at this point, and you probably don't want to hear indepth descriptions of about 30 highlights.

Dorm Thanksgiving:
It's amazing how normal it's become to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 45 people...we shared the holiday with our dorm subs, our girls, and some visiting parents and siblings. Love it.
So many dinner rolls...They were delicious, by the way.

Christmas Banquet:
Always a fun time, Christmas Banquet is put on by BFA's student council. This year, the theme was Narnia...which is just ALWAYS a good idea, if you ask me.

Mozzy's Goodbye Party:
Every now and then, students have to leave the dorm mid-year. In November, we had to say goodbye to one of our seniors as she went back to Korea. This is always hard--we sure love Mozzy and I miss having her around. Her music, her nonsensical puns, her questions, and her laugh are part of what make Palm home. Mozzy, we can't wait to see you at graduation!

It's tradition for departing students and staff to add their handprint to Palm's Sisterhood Wall.

All our Palm Seniors!

We love you, Mozzy!

Christmas Cookies and decorating:
Christmastime is always one of the sweetest times of the year for me, especially around the dorm. And what's not to love--cookies, candles, carols, and the scent of evergreen...aaah.

Rachel volunteered to be the tree...

 Palmgarten's Christmas Party!
I love the Christmas party. This year, we played Human Christmas Tree, Aunt Jennifer read the Christmas story, we ate delicious Christmas cookies, and we finished up with a secret Santa gift exchange. So much laughter and fun and just general enjoyment of each other. Definitely one of the year's highlights.

If you're still reading, here are some prayer requests:
* Pray for my girls as they take their finals and officially finish up this semester.
* Pray for joy and creativity in what can be a dark wintry season.
* Pray for continued building of relationships with staff and students, and that Palm would be a place where people are loved. All the time. :)

Thank you all for your prayers and support!
Happy (belated) New Year!

love and prayers,

Amanda

  1. Love the rolls picture! And it looks like "scarves" were the winning gift choice? Praying for all of your ladies!
